In this episode of ExploreXR, David is joined by Ruby Woodward a first year PhD student working at Cambridge University (Faculty of Education) and Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH). Ruby has a background in medicine and made the transition to academia in 2020, having worked clinically as a doctor prior to this. Her PhD is focussed upon exploring the use of simulation within the context of medical education, with a particular focus upon the adoption of augmented reality (AR) within simulation-based learning. She talks with David about the focus of her PhD, the first part of which is examining how outcomes are assessed in simulation-based research, and the efficacy of AR-based simulation compared with traditional teaching methods.
