In this edition of Explore XR, David is joined by Dr. Mark Cohen from The Univeristy of Michigan Hospital. Dr. Cohen is currently Professor of Surgery and Pharmacology, Director of the Medical School Pathway of Excellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Director of Endocrine Surgery Research, and Innovation Chief at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. His team is working closely with GigXR to produce a suite of procedural applications that will launch on the GigXR platform in 2022. Dr. Cohen holds the view that in order to continue driving learning and patient outcomes, hospitals and medical teaching establishments need to embrace the opportunities that present from emerging technologies like Mixed Reality. In this episode, he talks in detail about how he sees Mixed Reality benefitting all the stakeholders of medicine, from students to experienced physicians.
