In the latest episode of ExploreXR, David is joined by Dr Asher Marks and Kimberly Hieftje, PhD from Yale University. Asher is a Yale Medicine hematologist and oncologist and director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology. He is also the director of the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer program for Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. He is also an assistant professor of pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and is working on clinical trials to help find new treatments for tumors in adolescents and young adults. Kimberly is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine and co-founder/co-director of XR Pediatrics (xrpeds.org) at Yale and the new Yale Center for Immersive Technologies in Pediatrics. Dr. Hieftje is also the editor-in chief of the Games for Health Journal, and has focused on the use of immersive technology in clinical applications and behavior change videogame interventions targeting youth.
